The Azerbaijani military aggression on Armenia shows that the goal of the Azerbaijan-Turkish tandem is to cause ultimate damage to Armenian statehood.

STATEMENT

Azerbaijan once again launched a significant military escalation on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, in the North-Eastern direction, during the night of 27/28 July 2021.

After the attacks on Yeraskh community, near Nakhitchevan borders and Sotk village in Gegharkunik Region, this is the third time in one week that the criminal authorities of Azerbaijan have breached the ceasefire agreement and blatantly violated the territorial integrity of Armenia. As the clashes are reportedly still going on, since last night three Armenian servicemen have been killed by the Azerbaijani armed-forces and two others have been wounded.

The international community, the European Union and the EU member-states must now understand once and for all that this is yet another step towards continuous anti-armenian ethnic cleansing which started during the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh war in Artsakh, imposed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem. This military aggression shows that the goal of the Azerbaijan-Turkish coalition is to cause ultimate damage to the Armenian statehood, executing the genocidal aspirations of dictators Aliyev and Erdogan, which were initially set more than a century ago by Ottoman Turkey.

The EAFJD firmly condemns the latest attack and calls on the EU as well the democratic countries of the free world to unequivocally condemn the ongoing Azerbaijani aggression on the sovereign and internationally recognized territory of Armenia. Every possible step must be taken to immediately stop the Turkish-Azerbaijani dictatorial and aggressive tandem, emboldened by oil money, impunity and reckless both-sidesim which equals to supporting the oppressor.

As EU citizens we demand and expect integrity and justice from our leadership.

Following the latest Azerbaijani military offensive on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian sent a letter to the EU leaders, calling on them to take every possible step to immediately stop the Turkish-Azerbaijani dictatorial and aggressive tandem, as well as to end the reckless both-sidesism of the EU which equals to supporting the oppressor.
The letter was sent to Charles Michel President of Council of the European Union, Ursula Von der Leyen President of European Commission and Josep Borrell HR/VP of the Commission and head of European External Action Service.
