Brussels, Belgium – May 19, 2025 – Today, the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) stands in solidarity with the Pontic Greek community as they solemnly commemorate the anniversary of the Pontic Greek Genocide. We remember the hundreds of thousands of innocent Pontic Greeks who were systematically persecuted and murdered by the Ottoman Turkish authorities between 1914 and 1923.
“As Armenians, we share a deep understanding of the horrors of genocide and the enduring struggle for recognition and justice,” stated EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian.
“The continued denial of the Pontic Greek Genocide, along with the denial of the Armenian and Assyrian Genocides, by the Turkish government is unacceptable, perpetuating a cycle of impunity and remains an obstacle for true reconciliation. Our communities must remain united in demanding Justice and accountability. It is through our combined strength that we will overcome this shared struggle”.
The EAFJD reiterates its unwavering commitment to working alongside the Pontic Greek community and all victims of genocide in the pursuit of truth, justice, and the prevention of such crimes against humanity.
